Holy spirit in a healthy body

An energizing day: From boxing to team building

To get the summer off to a good start and keep fit at work, there's nothing better than a fun, physical activity that combines strategy and effort. L'ND team smet in July for an energizing day.

On this occasion, we came up with the idea of combining two themes: sport and group reflection. L'team so she found herself at La Salle de Sport by Go Sport in the morning for an introductory boxing course.

We started our day with a breakfast of champions organized by La Salle Sport by Go Sport A selection of pastries, coffees, herbal teas, fruit and cookies to help you keep your strength up before the start of hostilities!

This get-together is much appreciated by colleagues, and enables new recruits to meet the whole team.

Our activity is divided into three phases:

Netdevices team

1. Back to basics

Under the aegis of Jean-Baptiste, boxing and Andrew champion the ND team became familiar with technical warm-ups, combining brain and body with physical preparation and combat conditioning.

This part consists of acquiring the right reflexes, repeating cardio-boosting exercises and preparing yourself as well as possible.

As you can see from the pictures, the hard-working ND team performed this exercise with flair and zeal. The exercise highlighted the team's coordination and agility.

2. Playful exercises:

Once we'd assimilated the basic techniques, we started training in pairs. Our coach guides us through the fundamental movements of boxing: jabs, hooks and uppercuts, "cross-jab", "jab-cross-uppercut", sparring, bust withdrawal to name but a few.

The precursor idea is to improve our precision and responsiveness while strengthening team spirit and mutual trust.

Back to the individual: End of warm-ups

After a short break, our interlocutor invites us to do a series of rhythmic and intense individual exercises to target strength, cardio and mental fitness. Alone in front of our bag, sweating and always smiling or almost smiling.

Amazed, the initiation ends with a titanic fight between our two supervisors, a fight worthy of the MMA championship, which immediately whets our appetites.

Comfort after effort

We then meet up at a rugby-themed restaurant/bar to recharge our batteries over burgers 🙂 .

The second part of the day was devoted to team building. Employees met up with Andrew, a coach specializing in the creation of team-building activities to promote cohesion and mutual support between teams.

The activity enabled us to develop common knowledge and to understand the potential problems in the company.

On the program:

Mood weather: because it's important to know the state of mind of your colleagues, and if need be give your support if someone is under a rainy weather! 🌧

Valda's tree: A true Icebreaker, the team was able to evoke its blocking points and place them on Valda's tree to get rid of them.

Brainstorming session: What is a team? 🧠

By setting up several teams of three or four people, the idea was to brainstorm on the definition of a team and then indicate its definition on a chart. The point of this activity was to see the similarities and differences between each thought, and thus to see that, from one person to another, the team can have thousands of definitions.

Confidence-building activities and collaborative games :

A time-dependent challenge to move in the same direction with the whole team, eyes closed. The challenge was to move together from a starting point to an end point. These activities are also designed to encourage group decision-making and, above all, to support each other in mutual aid and cooperation exercises.

The day will end with the definition of common objectives by forming teams of two to three employees, each team giving its perspectives for improvement. And with the group as a whole, the implementation of an action plan to achieve each objective. The definition of objectives reinforces each member's commitment to the group and its projects.

This day combining physical activity and team building was an ideal opportunity to revitalize ourselves while strengthening the bonds within our team. The morning boxing session gave us a chance to burn off some energy while discovering a new discipline, while the afternoon team building session helped us to improve our cohesion, communication and team spirit.
